“A part of our ongoing commitment to understanding and addressing the impact of cancer within the Black and African American community”
Through the CATERS Project, our team at Washington University is developing culturally-appropriate materials and methods for community health workers (CHWs) and lay health educators (LHEs) to identify and refer Black Americans to cancer genetic research studies, clinical genetic counseling, and risk assessment services. By engaging our community, we’ve formed invaluable partnerships and gained rich insights to best achieve this goal.
